Le Sirenuse (Positano, Amalfi Coast) - www.sirenuse.it
Melissa's review:
Le Sirenuse, among the Leading Small Hotels of the World, is a breathtaking, boutique (63 rooms) hotel in Positano. Family owned and operated, Le Sirenuse opened in 1951 when the Marchesi Sersale family converted their summer home into a charming hotel. Almost every room, including mine, have a balcony overlooking the Bay of Positano, which is just a 5-minute walk through the dreamy streets of Positano.
Spa
Designed by the famous Italian architect Gae Aulenti, Le Sirenuse has an elegantly designed spa; teak wood, steel and glass give the spa a modern, fresh look. Bringing overall balance to the spa is a marble, cold plunge pool in the center of the spa. The spa is small, but a perfect fit for this boutique hotel. The spa is also an Aveda concept spa, which offers an “aromatherapy journey” with each treatment. I received a one-hour massage by a massage therapist named Stefano; it was the best massage I have ever received. Included was stretching, massage and scalp massage with hot oil. Silvia, the spa manager, is a beautiful, blue-eyed woman as dear as can be; she assures relaxation and rejuvenation.
The Staff – Andrea, Antonio, Silvia and the rest of the staff are smiling faces, happy to accommodate. Le Sirenuse and Positano are a whimsical dream, almost surreal for me. Read my review of Le Sirenuse in Your Wedding Day Magazine. (link to article Amore Della) Oh … and one last thought … while there I sampled the Eau D’ Italie perfumes, created by Marina, daughter of the family hotel. I loved the scents, which are available at the boutique.
