Why do we get massages? That's an easy question -- to relax, to feel good and to ease tense muscles. I love getting massages, but I have to admit that I really have never "needed" one to help me heal...until this week. In a nutshell, the past several months have been emotionally overwhelming...as we all know, this takes such a toll on our mind, heart, spirit and body.
I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to Joy and Jacque of
Montecito Bodyworks. I emailed Jacque on Monday to say, "My neck is hurting so bad, I can hardly move. Can you help me?" I was not expecting an appointment that day or even the next day, but Jacque (despite her own flu!) emailed me back immediately to try to arrange something that evening. When she couldn't reach me on email, she called me, but when she realized she had an old phone number, she called my friend to get my number. Her intuition and caring made her persistant in getting in touch with me and when she finally did, she insisted that she or Joy see me soon.
So, I saw Joy the following day (Jacque was still sick). Joy was compassionate, so kind and understanding of emotional trauma and how it affects the body. Her massage was so healing and therapeutic ... it was so much more than just a feel good massage, but truly helpful; she knew exactly what was wrong with me and exactly how to treat the issue.
The next day Jacque emailed to see if I was okay and how I was feeling. Joy and Jacque -- thank you for showing such a genuine concern for my aches and pains -- heart and body.
